• Studied acting and directing at California State University, Northridge while doing improv/sketch with comedy group The Groundlings
• While attending high school at Bainbridge Island, he didn't make many friends until he began impersonating some of his teachers
• At the age of two, he and his mother moved to a Zen retreat on Mount Baldy outside L․A․ to live with his stepfather, who was a Buddhist therapist and monk
