• Delivered public service messages about the March of Dimes and other research drives on "Beat the Clock․"
• Went to Williams College and the Fordham University law school
• Died on the same day that "To Tell the Truth" was revived in syndication
• Originally intended to pursue a career in law, but the comparatively high salary of radio lured him away from his job as a law clerk
• On television, he was known for serving as master of ceremonies for such game shows as "Beat the Clock" and "To Tell the Truth․"
• Performed the voice of Superman on the radio for 14 years
• In order to allow him to take time off from the "Superman" radio show, the writers came up with Superman's vulnerability to kryptonite, and whenever he took a day off, his character would be said to be held prisoner with a piece of the metal
• Made a recording of the New Testament of the "Good News Bible․"
• Wrote the inspirational books "Thou Shalt Not Fear" and "With the Whole Heart․"
• Taught Sunday school classes at his church for over 35 years
