• When he graduated from RADA in 1981, he already had seven major prizes for acting, comedy and physical presence to his name
• Before being accepted at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, he worked as a joiner, a salesman and a landscape gardener

• Best known for playing villains, including Charles Rane in "Passenger 57," Jacob Kell in "Highlander: Endgame" and Damodar in "Dungeons & Dragons" and "Dungeons & Dragons 2: Wrath of the Dragon God․"
• Was a member of the 1980s Brit Pack, a group of young British actors who were interviewed together by Elissa Van Poznak for "The Face" magazine who went on to achieve simultaneous success in Hollywood
• According to his immediate family, when he was a young boy watching his brother in a play, he ran on stage during a dramatic moment to stop his brother from being eaten by a crocodile
• During his studies at RADA, he performed a self-written and directed adaptation of "Macbeth" in which Hamlet wields a baseball bat instead of a sword for Queen Elizabeth II
