• Earned his B․A․ in theater arts from the University of Idaho
• Got his first taste of acting in 1977 when he earned a small part in a campus production of the musical "Godspell․"
• Played football in college, helping the Vandals through their first winning season in five years
• One of his best known acting roles is on the sitcom "Coach" as Michael "Dauber" Dybinski, some of whose mannerisms he based on a graduate assistant who'd coached him in college
• With his distinctive deep voice, he often plays dimwitted characters, including the animated starfish Patrick Star on "SpongeBob SquarePants․"
• Made friends with actor Nick Bakay when they were rooming together in college
• Joined the Delta Tau Delta International Fraternity
