• Well known for her role for six seasons on the television series, "Hill Street Blues" and her role in "Murder One," which got her an Emmy nomination
• Accepted into the Drama Department of Carnegie Tech in Pittsburg Pennsylvania, but when she realized how much the tuition would be she moved to New York and worked a variety of jobs
• When she was 26, she started to get in touch with the head of Carnegie Tech’s Drama Department and was offered a scholarship, becoming the oldest freshman the school had ever had
• Mother of "NYPD Blue" producer Jesse Bochco, and mother-in-law of actress Kate Danson
• She is known to be a talented and innovative cook, preparing cuisine with herbs and vegetables raised in her own garden
