• Began working as a child model for John Powers at the age of 5 and later made her Broadway debut in "Lady in the Dark" at the age of 11
• Worked as a voice actress for radio soap operas during her teenage years, leading to her first contract with MGM and her film debut in "Summer Holiday" in 1948
