• Her first cookbook, "Cook Like a Rock Star," landed on the New York Times Bestseller List in 2011
• Graduated from Canisius College in Buffalo with an English and communications degree and then later enrolled at the Culinary Institute of America
• Moved to Italy for a year, where she attended the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and worked at La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria and La Bottega del' 30 in Tuscany
