  • Well-known for her numerous USO tours to Vietnam during the 1960s
  • Attended Northwestern University, but left before graduating in order to pursue more opportunities on the West Coast
  • Suffered numerous facial fractures following a 20 foot fall while performing on stage in 1972, but was seen only 10 weeks later performing once again
  • Discovered while performing as a singer in college by George Burns who would invite her to become a part of his Las Vegas act
  • After completing several films alongside Elvis Presley during the 1960s, she would later focus her efforts on television, making numerous appearances on series as well as made-for-television movies
  • Made her entertainment debut in 1961 after signing a recording contract with RCA as well as a film contract with 20th Century Fox
  • Advised by her hairdresser to become a redhead, the same man who also suggested Lucille Ball to do the same
  • Became a naturalized citizen of the United States at age eight
