• After following her British husband across the Atlantic in 1940, she joined the war effort there as an ambulance driver, newspaper columnist, and member of the Women's Land Army
• Signed with Howard Hughes in preparation for appearing in his film "Scarface" in 1932 at the age of 19, after which Warner Bros․ bought her contract
• Began working as a chorus girl for MGM in 1929 and appeared in more than 20 films for the studio
• Made her screen acting debut when she was only five years old in the film "Ramona" in 1916
• Best known for her role as Cesca in "Scarface," as Vivian Revere in "Three on a Match," and as the title character in "The Strange Love of Molly Louvain․"
• Her attempts to sue Warner Bros․ in 1936 for their questionable practices, although unsuccessful, made it possible for actors like James Cagney and Bette Davis to follow suit
• Once appeared on Broadway in a production of "The Respectful Prostitute" in 1948
