• Studied Marketing at a college in Florida before returning to New York to study acting at Uta Hagen's HB Studio
• Started out as a member of the theater company Room 203, which performed sketch comedy in order to raise money for full productions

• He was very concerned about getting the character Bubbles right on "The Wire" because he based on a real life police informant for show writer and former detective Ed Burns
