Her first directing project was the TV series "Doctors" in 2002
Best known as a television director who has worked on "Doctors," "EastEnders," and "Merlin․"
Also directed episodes of the popular science fiction series "Doctor Who" and its spin-offs "Torchwood" and "The Sarah Jane Adventures," and is only the second person to direct in all three series, the other being Colin Teague
Despite sharing a last name and an association with "Doctor Who," she is not related to Patrick Troughton, the man who played the series' second Doctor
