• Was named to the board of directors of the Museum of Broadcast Communications in Chicago in 2004
• Graduated from Wright Junior College in 1951 to attend the University of Wisconsin, where he earned his B․S․ degree in 1953

• Served in the United States Army from 1954 through 1956, and served as a liaison to Ed Sullivan during his 1955 trip to Tokyo
• WKOW-TV hired him out of college and let him host two daily television shows, an afternoon children's show and a late night show
• Became Senior Vice President of Dick Clark Productions in 1978
• Best known for producing award shows, including the "American Music Awards" and the "Golden Globe Awards․"
• Performed as a stand-up comic at The Chesterfield Supper Club, The Black Orchid, the Gate of Horn and the Small World
