Stottlemeyer is investigating the death of a maid and wants Monk to help. But Monk prefers to help the Nigerian, Stottlemeyer tells Monk he is doing this because he still doesn't know what happened to Trudy.

But as other voodoo dolls arrive, seemingly predicting two more deaths, he finds that Natalie is afraid of voodoo due to an incident in her past, which comes to light after the person making the dolls sends one to Natalie predicting that she will be decapitated.
