Get the latest on NBC's new and returning shows
After another successful season, we weren't surprised NBC opted to largely maintain the status quo for the 2018-2019 slate. We already knew hits like This Is Us, Will & Grace and The Good Placewould be returning in the fall, but the network also handed out renewals to A.P Bioand Good Girls, much to our excitement. Plus, Dick Wolf procedurals Chicago Fire, Chicago Med and Chicago P.D. were all greenlit for another season. However, not every show was as lucky, and in order to make room for the new hits a few old staples had to pay the price, including Taken, Riseand Great News.
This gave the network room to pick up a slew of interesting new projects, including the Julian Fellowes period piece The Gilded Age, the Ryan Eggold medical drama New Amsterdam and even Brooklyn Nine-Nine, which was canceled by Fox. Meanwhile, Manifest, the mystery drama starring Once Upon a Time alum Josh Dallas, has already made a huge splash in the ratings in its Monday timeslot and remains one of the most popular shows to come out of the fall premieres so far.
