Showtime announced its summer slate Wednesday, including the series premiere of The Big C.

The eighth season of the muckraking Penn & Teller: Bulls--t!will kick off the summer lineup on Thursday, June 10 at 10/9c. This year, they'll tackle "Cheerleaders," "Vaccinations," and "Teen Sex." Then at 10:30/9:30c, The Green Room with Paul Provenza will debut, featuring comedians in a roundtable setting performing for a studio audience. Among them: Roseanne Barr, Sandra Bernhard, Eddie Izzard, Paul Mooney, Bob Saget and Jonathan Winters.

The Jenji Kohan-produced dramedy Weedswill return for its sixth season on Monday, Aug. 16 at 10/9c, followed at 10:30/9:30c by the series premiere of the dark comedy The Big C, starring three-time Emmy winner Laura Linney. She plays a wife, mother and teacher who upends her life after receiving a terminal cancer diagnosis.

Weeds' Jenji Kohan inks new deal with Lionsgate

Also, The Real L Word, a reality show inspired by the long-running series The L Word, will premiere on Sunday, June 20 at 10/9c. The show is similar to the original Showtime series in that it will chronicle the lives of hip lesbians living in Los Angeles.
