Courteney Cox, Cougar TownLest we forget, Cougar Town was originally developed around Cox, who deserves kudos for her adaptability in helping shape the comedy into the stellar ensemble it is today. With the show having figured that out (the title brouhaha notwithstanding), Cox has never been more engaging, funny and assured in her performance. And as the only star not to be nominated on Friends, we'd hate to see her go through another sitcom run without some Emmy recognition.Tina Fey, 30 Rock30 Rock may have had a bumpy season (and its recent headlines don't help), but Fey, who won in 2008, continues to shine as Liz Lemon's quirks and eccentricities get weirder and funnier. We realize the role may not be that big of a stretch for her, but there's something to be said for delivering consistent quality.Patricia Heaton, The MiddleThe least heralded of ABC's Wednesday night comedies, the down-to-earth The Middle has quietly turned into a steady hit, thanks largely to its leading lady. Like on Everybody Loves Raymond — for which she earned back-to-back Emmys — Heaton hits it out of the park again as a harried mother and wife, this time with an extra layer of hopefulness, resilience and relatability.

Melissa McCarthy, Mike & Molly

We've loved McCarthy since her days on Gilmore Girls (not to mention Samantha Who?) and would be even more tickled if she finally got some Emmy love. Between her impeccable comedic timing, game-for-anything 'tude, and witty and sweet repartee with Billy Gardell, she's made the traditional romantic sitcom cool again. And having Bridesmaids under her belt during the voting period doesn't hurt either.Martha Plimpton, Raising HopeAs the youngest grandma in prime time, Plimpton's Virginia could have been trite, but the veteran star has managed to imbue the character with warmth and joy without letting up on the snark. Plus, her delightful chemistry with Garret Dillahunt, our supporting actor hopeful, has made them one of the most affable couples on TV.Amy Poehler, Parks and RecreationRemember when Leslie Knope was thought to be a female Michael Scott? Those days are long gone. Charming and endlessly daffy in the best way possible, Leslie and her sunny idealism would be grating in lesser hands, but Poehler, who was nominated for Parks last year, sells it with sincerity, humor and smarts that would totally make us vote Knope in 2012.Who would you like to see nominated?
