CBS's 2018-2019 Fall TV Lineup: What You Need to Know

Get the latest on CBS' new and returning shows

CBS didn't look all that different in 2017-2018 than it did in 2016-2017, and frankly, it didn't have to. With 2 Broke Girls the only major loss from the previous year (compared to losing CSI, Mike & Molly, Person of Interest, The Good Wife and Supergirl the season before), it was more of the same reliable CBS this past season.

The network's big win of last season was launching the Big Bang Theory spin-off Young Sheldon, which immediately became CBS' second-biggest series (after Big Bang). And CBS needed that, as the rest of its new shows didn't fare that well at all. SEAL Team and S.W.A.T. got second seasons, but Me, Myself and I, Living Biblically, 9JKL and Wisdom of the Crowd were all quickly canceled.

CBS looks to stick with tradition in 2018-2019, and we really mean stick with tradition. Reboot fever hit CBS extra hard, and it added revivals/reboots of Murphy Brown and Magnum P.I.to its fall lineup. These shows join its existing reboots S.W.A.T., Hawaii Five-0 and MacGyver. Most of CBS' risks? They're being reserved for its streaming service CBS All Access.
