Get Committed: Will Lana Survive American Horror Story: Asylum?

[Warning: This story contains major spoilers from Wednesday's episode of American Horror Story: Asylum. Read at your own risk!] It's the question fans have been wondering all season: Will consummate survivor Lana Winters (Sarah Paulson) actually make it out of American Horror Story: Asylum alive? She survived Bloody Face's (Zachary Quinto) death dungeon, the car accident and even made it out of Briarcliff alive, but when faced with her own son's quest for vengeance, will she come out victorious? That's the question she'll be faced with in next week's Season 2 finale. But this week, there were plenty of other burning questions raised in an Asylum episode told in three parts. Let's take a look:

It's the question fans have been wondering all season: Will consummate survivor Lana Winters (Sarah Paulson) actually make it out of American Horror Story: Asylumalive?

She survived Bloody Face's (Zachary Quinto) death dungeon, the car accident and even made it out of Briarcliff alive, but when faced with her own son's quest for vengeance, will she come out victorious? That's the question she'll be faced with in next week's Season 2 finale. But this week, there were plenty of other burning questions raised in an Asylum episode told in three parts. Let's take a look:

American Horror Story: Asylum's Sarah Paulson talks Lana's fate

Kit, Alma and Grace: In Kit's (Evan Peters) portion of the story, he is living happily in a polygamous family dynamic similar to Big Love, with both Grace (Lizzie Brochere) and Alma (Britne Oldford), along with their kids, in the home the aliens originally abducted them in. But because of Grace's inability to let go of the past — namely, the aliens — Alma decides to take matters into her own hands by hacking Grace, ironically, with an axe.
Burning Questions: Alma feared the aliens would someday return for Kit and the children, so will that actually happen? Why were the aliens so intrigued with Kit in the first place?

Sister Jude: Jude (Jessica Lange) is still, unfortunately, stuck in the asylum, but she's now been renamed Betty Drake. Before Timothy Howard (Joseph Fiennes) leaves Briarcliff to be a cardinal in New York, he promises to get Jude released. With his exit, Briarcliff has been turned over to the state and is overrun with the filth of the era, essentially being turned into more like a prison — even Alma is one of the inmates! Before Jude realizes it, more than two years has gone by in the blink of an eye. Howard has not returne,d and Jude has begun to lose her mind and  imagines the Angel of Death (Frances Conroy) constantly around.
Burning Questions:
Will Jude ever get out of Briarcliff? Even if she does, will she ever really be sane again? And what's the event that finally forces Briarcliff to shut down?

Get Committed: Can anyone save Sister Jude on American Horror Story: Asylum?

Lana Winters: Her book, Maniac, has been at the top of the bestseller's list for 10 weeks, which is why we find Lana at a reading. However, the events in her book don't seem to match up with what we know happened. Turns out that Lana has fabricated some aspects, such as Bloody Face bringing in another victim and that Wendy (Clea DuVall) was only her "roommate." Lana is haunted by visions of them during the reading, but her tears only make the crowd love her more. When Kit reunites with her at the signing, he implores her to finally take down Briarcliff  and reveal that Jude is still alive. But she's changed her tune, saying that Jude made her own bed with that awful place. She's much too interested in being famous, and her next book is about Leigh Emerson (Ian McShane), the crazy Santa. What she doesn't know is that in the present, her son Johnny (Dylan mcDermott) has tracked down a signed copy of her book and steals it from a woman so he can present Lana's "book of lies" to his mother, then kill her so he can finish his father's work.
Burning Questions: Will he get to kill her? How will Lana react to meeting the son she says died in her book? Will she change her mind about saving Jude? And will her investigation lead to the eventual shutting down of Briarcliff?

Do you hope Lana survives? Should Jude be set free? Hit the comments with your thoughts!

American Horror Story: Asylum's season finale airs Wednesday at 10/9c on FX.
