Get Committed: Can Anyone Save Sister Jude on American Horror Story: Asylum?

[Warning: This story contains major spoilers from Wednesday's episode of American Horror Story: Asylum. Read at your own risk!]

Even though we still have two more hours before American Horror Story: Asylum comes to a close, Wednesday's episode, which featured Dr. Thredson (Zachary Quinto) finally meeting his maker before Lana (Sarah Paulson) birthed his son, felt a bit like a season finale. We imagine these final two hours will see Lana continue her quest to shut Briarcliff down, while Kit (Evan Peters) will try to navigate his (very odd) new family dynamic.

However, the real question is whether Sister Jude (Jessica Lange) — whose initial drive to find herself in Rome alongside Monsignor Timothy Howard (Joseph Fiennes) is what kicked off all the craziness in Briarcliff — will actually escape said asylum alive. But that's not the only burning question this week's episode raised. Check out the rest:

To what did Grace (Lizzie Brochere) give birth?
We finally got a glimpse into Grace's time with the aliens, during which the otherworldly beings actually put the baby inside her in some weird reverse birthing scene. But how does that make Kit the father exactly? (They have his DNA, but...) Regardless, the happy couple doesn't initially get to keep the baby, whom Grace says will someday change the world.

Will Lana survive the season?
If executive producer Ryan Murphy was truly evil Lana would've been killed going to Thredson's home alone with nothing but a gun. Fortunately that wasn't the case. Moments before the police arrived, Thredson made it clear he'd end up in the nut house rather than getting the electric chair. Before he could shoot her, Lana murdered him in "self-defense." Instead of getting an abortion, Lana decided that there has been too much death, though she ends up smoking through her pregnancy and nearly shunning the baby (Johnny!) entirely before finding herself breastfeeding him. But considering we haven't seen her in the future, and Johnny has severe mommy issues, does she survive his childhood? At least she got a book out of the experience!

Why does Johnny (Dylan McDermott) hate his mother?
Sure, Lana did kill his father, but Johnny really hates his mother, complaining to a hooker that his mom never loved his father. Does he not realize that she killed Thredson to protect not only herself, but thousands of other women who may have died at the hands of Bloody Face if she let him live? Still, he hates her; which again, makes us worry about her future.

Is speed the new suspense on TV?

Will Kit get a happy ending?
Thanks to Lana exposing Briarcliff, Kit is finally set free. His first act is to visit the monsignor and essentially blackmail him into turning Grace's "body" over to him. See, Grace technically died and there's even a death certificate to prove it, so no one would get wise to the fact that Briarcliff released a murderer. So, Kit, Grace and their baby get to leave their nutty pasts behind and move back into Kit's old home — where the (gasp!) still-alive Alma (Britne Oldford) is waiting with (gasp!) her child with Kit! Ruh-roh!

Will anyone be able to save Jude?
After screaming at the monsignor that she now has more clarity than when she was in charge of Briarcliff, Timothy sends Jude to solitary confinement where she allegedly hanged herself before Lana arrived with the police to save her. In truth, Jude has been locked away in the darkest corner of Briarcliff, with the monsignor taking a tip from Kit in faking Jude's death so no one — especially Lana, who hopes to expose everything about the asylum — will be able to track Jude down.
