Friday Night Lights alumna Jurnee Smollett is joining the show as a series regular, and 90210's Amelia Rose Blaire will also recur on the HBO drama, TVLine reports.

Smollett will play Nicole, a somewhat naïve do-gooder, and Blaire will play Willa, the daughter of Louisiana Governor Truman Burrell (Arliss Howard), who disagrees with her father about vampire rights, according to TVLine.
Smollett is also starring in NBC's upcoming Jekyll and Hyde drama Do No Harm.
True Blood will return with new episodes this summer.
