Saturday Night Live: Stefon and Amy Poehler Help Seth Meyers Say Goodbye

It was Melissa McCarthy's third time hosting SNL, but the focus of the night wasn't on the comedian's welcome return. Saturday also markedSeth Meyers' last episode after more than a decade on the series.

While the episode featured some real duds (we're looking at you, "Art Exhibit"), Meyers' goodbye and McCarthy's delightful absurdity made it an episode worth watching. Check out the best sketches below.

Melissa McCarthy Monologue

Melissa McCarthy didn't receive the warmest welcome from Bobby Moynihan during her opening monologue. The longtime cast member challenged the host to high-flying fisticuffs, in which we were all winners (except Kenan Thompson. He lost pretty hard).

Seth Meyers' final "Weekend Update"

While it was sad to see Meyers sign off, his final "Weekend Update" was sentimental without being overstated. Amy Poehler, Stefon (Bill Hader),Andy Samberg and Fred Armisen all stopped by to say goodbye to Meyers. And more importantly, teach us what a human DVR is.

Valentine's Day commercial

Valentine's Day is the worst, but this SNL commercial parody about last-minute shopping for your significant other at CVS is pretty great. Because who hasn't bought their loved one a balloon that sings "Mambo No. 5," G-rated dice and salsa?

"Girlfriends" Talk Show

"Girlfriends" can be pretty hit or miss, but the decision to bring an older guest to the teen talk show definitely helped keep this week's segment fresh. Aidy Bryant and McCarthy had such great chemistry, it's a shame the show didn't put them together more.

"28 Reasons"

In honor of Black History Month, high school students Jay Pharoah,Sasheer Zamata and Kenan Thompson perform their school presentation "28 Reasons to Hug a Black Guy Today" in song, natch. The skit was definitely one of the night's highlights and it was great to see the series show some edge, but why does Zamata always get relegated to the hook? Give the girl her own verse sometime!

Women's Group

Somehow this sketch about a ladies lunch outshone Meyers' star-studded goodbye as the best segment of the night. McCarthy's commitment to the Princess Bride's Inigo Montoya-shtick contrasted against dream kitchen vision boards, and Under the Tuscan Sun was a great reminder of how much fun McCarthy can be when she's more reserved in her weirdness.
