Report: Nicki Minaj Not Returning to American Idol
Just one week after Randy Jackson announced he would not be returning to the judges table after this season of American Idol come reports that Nicki Minaj will also be vacating her post. According to Us Weekly, an anonymous source said, "It's safe to say she isn't coming back to Idol. She's okay with it. She had a great time but was only going to do one season anyway." Fox would not comment on the report.

Minaj's time on Idol was distinguished mainly by her acrimony (perceived, real or fictional) with fellow judge — and diva singer — Mariah Carey. It began when video surfaced on TMZ last November of Minaj loudly voicing displeasure with Carey during Idol auditions,as fellow judge Keith Urban was caught between the two. In recent weeks, Minaj voiced her problems with Carey on Twitter, calling her "insecure" and "bitter."
It's also been rumored that Urban and Carey are also on the way out the door of Idol for next season, in addition to producer Nigel Lythgoe.
American Idol airs its season finale performance show Wednesday at 8/7c with the winner crowned on Thursday at 8/7c.
