Lifetime to Broadcast The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story

The scandalous behavior that took place behind the scenes of Saved by the Bell will be chronicled in a new Lifetime movie later this year. The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story will premiere on Lifetime on September 1, Buzzfeed reports. It will be based on interviews with former cast and crew members, as well as the events depicted in Dustin Diamond's 2009 memoir Behind the Bell, which contains stories of cast members doing drugs and sleeping with each other.

Odd Couples: Real-life celebrity roommates

The six actors who will play the primary roles in the film were chosen by Saved by the Bell's original casting director, Robin Lippin, according to Buzzfeed. They are: Dylan Everett (Degrassi: The Next Generation) as Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Sam Kindseth (Shameless) as Diamond, Tiera Skovbye (Supernatural) as Elizabeth Berkley, Julian Works as Mario Lopez, Alyssa Lynch as Tiffani-Amber Thiessen, and Taylor Russell McKenzie as Lark Voorhies.
