Drea de Matteo Promoted to Series Regular for Sons of Anarchy's Last Season

This time, Drea de Matteo is getting bumped up instead of bumped off.

The Sopranos alum is being promoted to a series regular for Sons of Anarchy's seventh and final season, TVLine reports.

De Matteo has played Wendy, Jax's (Charlie Hunnam) junkie ex and baby momma since the first season. However, the Season 6 finale, which also saw the death of Jax's other love Tara (Maggie Siff), hinted that Wendy would play a bigger role in the upcoming season. Does this also mean Wendy will help out with son Abel, and possibly Thomas as well?

Since her breakout role on The Sopranos, de Matteo has enjoyed stints on Joey, Desperate Housewives, Californication and The Mindy Project, among others.

The final season of Sons of Anarchy is set to kick off on FX this fall.
