Big Bang Scoop: Meet Bernadette's Mom!

Get ready to meet Mrs. Rostenkowski!
Malcolm in the Middle and The Bernie Mac Show actress Meagen Fay has been cast as Bernadette's mother on The Big Bang Theory, TVGuide.com has learned.
Fay will appear in the Dec. 6 episode, in which Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) and Howard (Simon Helberg) have dinner with her parents in Bernie's apartment. Casey Sander will return as her tough-to-please (for Howard at least) father.

Now the question is: What will Mrs. Rostenkowski sound like? Lest we forget, she used to smoke pre-natal cigarettes, which is why Bernie's so... short."I'm sure that's why Bernadette's so high-pitched too!" Rauch told TVGuide.com earlier this season. "I'm dying to meet her and know what she sounds like. I keep imagining all these different voices for her in my head." This is technically the second time we'll see Bernadette's mom: Viewers got an aerial, blink-and-you'll-miss-it glimpse of her in the Season 5 finale when the Google Earth satellite zoomed out from Bernadette and Howard's rooftop wedding. Both of Bernadette's parents were supposed to appear onscreen in that episode, but ultimately only her father was featured.

Besides Malcolm and Bernie Mac, Fay, a Second City alum, has appeared on Roseanne, Seinfeld, Desperate Housewives and How I Met Your Mother, on which she plays Lily's mom.The Big Bang Theory airs Thursdays at 8/7c on CBS. What do you think Mrs. Rostenkowski sounds like?
