The Voice had a smashing Monday night — and so did Smash.
Airing its first battle round show, The Voice snagged 16.7 million viewers and a 6.1 in the adults 18-to-49 demo to post its best numbers in a month. The episode climbed 13 percent from last week, which went up against the rain-delayed Daytona 500.

Smash followed with a 17 percent bump (7.9 million, 2.7), opposite reruns of Hawaii Five-0 and Castle. That easily gave NBC the win for the night, with an average of 13.7 million and a 4.9.The only other shows to air fresh episodes, The Bachelor: Women Tell All (8.1 million, 2.5) and a two-hour Alcatraz (5.7 million, 1.8), were steady.8 p.m.
