Ron Moore's new Starz series Outlander has added another Game of Thronesalum. Duncan Lacroix, who played a Karstark soldier on the HBO series, has joined the cast, the network announced Tuesday.

Game of Thrones' Tobias Menzies joins Ron Moore's Outlander

Based on the book series from Diana Gabaldon, Outlander follows Claire Randall, a married combat nurse from 1945 who is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743 and forced to marry Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan), a young Scottish warrior. Lacroix will play Murtagh Fitzgibbons Fraser, Jamie's mysterious and dark godfather whose reputation precedes him. At first skeptical of Claire, like his fellow clansmen, Murtagh eventually warms to her.

Exclusive: Doctor Who and Layer Cake Vets Join Ron Moore's Outlander

Lacroix join the previously cast Heughan, Layer Cake actor Stephen Walters, Doctor Who vet Annette Badland, The Hobbit's Graham McTavish, Gangs of New York's Gary Lewis and Games of Thrones vet Tobias Menzies. The highly anticipated casting of Claire Randall has yet to be announced.

Battlestar Galactica's Moore will write and executive-produce Outlander with Jim Kohlberg. The 16-episode series, which will begin filming in Scotland this fall, is slated to premiere in 2014. Who do you think should play Claire?
