Nasim Pedrad, Elliot Gould, Seaton Smith and Zack Pearlman have joined the cast of Fox's multi-camera comedy Mulaney, TVGuide.com has learned.

Based on the life of John Mulaney, who will also write and star in the comedy, Mulaney follows an aspiring comedian coming of age under the influence of his boss (Martin Short), his roommates and his neighbors.

Gould, Pedrad and Smith were among those cast in the original pilot, but will play somewhat different roles in the new incarnation. Gould will play Oscar, Mulaney's colorful and boisterous neighbor. Smith will play Mulaney's roommate Motif, an experienced comedian whom Mulaney tries to emulate.

Pedrad, who currently serves as Saturday Night Live's female castmember who's been there the longest, will play Jane, a personal trainer who is also one of Mulaney's roommates. A source tells TVGuide.com that the production schedules for Mulaney and SNL don't conflict, so Pedrad will be able to work on both series, which hail from Universal Television.

Additionally, Pearlman will play Andre Van Horn, a stubborn but energetic 29-year-old trust fund baby.  Andre lives off a small amount of old family money, but does everything grandly: speaks grandly, lies grandly and drinks grandly.

Mulaney will also executive-produce with SNL's Lorne Michaels, David Miner, Dave Becky, Andrew Singer and Andy Ackerman, who will also helm the pilot.
