Josh Duhamel on Hosting Kids' Choice Awards, Becoming a Dad: I Never Grew Out of Being a Kid

Dad-to-be Josh Duhamel is ready to show that he's really just a big kid at heart when he hosts the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards in March.

"I'll just get to act [like] a fool and that's really what I do best," Duhamel told TVGuide.com at the network's upfront presentation.

Although Duhamel is no stranger to the awards show — we were there when he was inducted into the show's Arm Fart Hall of Fame —he says it's an honor to be named host.

"I remember watching it as a kid and wishing I could be slimed, so for me it's like a dream come true," he said. "I've already been slimed a couple of times. You'd think it's a lot stickier and horrible-tasting, but there's no taste or smell and it washes off really easily. It actually moisturizes your skin." And who's at the top of his list to get slimed when he's at the helm? "Let's go with Ryan Seacrest. Maybe we can actually make it happen!" (He did just costar with Seacrest's girlfriend Julianne Hough.) "Or I'd like to slime Tom Brady."

Stars who don't look their age

Duhamel, whose wife Fergie announced that she was pregnant earlier this month, says he's more than ready for parenthood. 

"I think I never really grew out of [being a kid]," he said. "The enthusiasm and innocence that kids bring to anything makes it more fun. If I'm at a party and there are kids, they are the first ones I want to hang out with."
