Vice President Joe Biden gave a nod to same-sex marriage on Sunday's Meet the Press and credited Will & Grace for changing public opinion.

"When things really began to change is when the social culture changes," Biden said. "I think Will & Grace probably did more to educate the American public than almost anybody's ever done so far. People fear that which is different. Now they're beginning to understand."Shortly after Biden's interview, Will & Grace star Debra Messing tweeted, "I'm thrilled Biden has come out in support of gay marriage and am beyond proud of what he said [about Will & Grace] #PROUD. Thank you Mr. Vice President for yer [sic] support and yer [sic] words about W&G. #humbled."Eric McCormack later responded by tweeting: "Three cheers for VP Joe Biden! Fantastic interview.
