The Bad Boys series pilot now has two very bada** girls in the lead.

Jessica Alba has joined the spin-off pilot of the popular '90s action movies starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. Alba will play Nancy McKenna, an Army veteran and detective who has spent a decade overseas and is now raising two preteen kids with her husband, according to TVLine. She's playing the partner to Gabrielle Union's Syd Burnett, a DEA agent who first appeared in the films as the sister to Lawrence's character, Marcus.

Alba will also serve as an executive producer if the show gets picked to series. NBC made the pilot order back in October with original film producer Jerry Bruckheimer also signed on to executive produce. The role will be Alba's first TV series regular role since 2000's James Cameron-produced series Dark Angel, which aired on Fox.

NBC has already picked up Julian Fellowes' The Gilded Age to series for next season, but it still has seven other drama pilots in consideration including the Bad Boys spin-off. The network will make its final decisions about what will be picked up for the next television season in the spring.
