Did Savannah Guthrie Flip Off Matt Lauer on Today?

It is just not Matt Lauer's week.

After days of getting bashed in the press — including talk of having Anderson Cooper replace him — the Today show anchor got an icy reception from co-anchor Savannah Guthrie. Or did he?

During a vacuum segment on Friday's live broadcast, Lauer joked that it was Guthrie's first time using the cleaning appliance. Guthrie, 41, scoffed and made an angry face as she held up what appeared to be her left middle finger to Lauer's back. However Guthrie quickly got wind of the "Fingergate" speculation online and clarified the gesture. "Folks!! That was my INDEX finger! Photo evidence proving my innocence coming," she tweeted. Soon after, she posted a screen grab for "all the doubters" indeed showing it was her index finger.

Lauer, 55, seemed to take the misunderstanding in stride and teased Guthrie online by tweeting a photo of him "storming out" of the Today show after her "middle finger salute."

Looks like Al Roker better watch his next move.
