Elizabeth Banks may get the chance to spout the already immortal line, "Happy Hunger Games, and may the odds be ever in your favor!" should she take the role of Effie Trinket in the upcoming adaptation of Suzanne Collins novel The Hunger Games. The Hollywood Reporter says the 30 Rock star is eyeing the role of the eccentric handler of protagonists Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark (to be brought to life by Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson, respectively).
In other Hunger Games news, relative newcomers Amandla Stenberg and Dayo Okeniyi have been cast to play District 11 tributes Rue and Thresh, respectively, according to the movie's Facebook page.
The Hunger Games is set to hit theaters in March 2012.
