Elementary Casts Holmes' Protégé Kitty Winter

Elementary has cast newcomer Ophelia Lovibond as Sherlock Holmes' (Jonny Lee Miller) new protégé Kitty Winter. The British actress will make her debut in the drama's premiere on Thursday, Oct. 30 (10/9c) on CBS.

As previously reported, Sherlock will take Kitty under his wing, making a rival out of her predecessor Joan Watson (Lucy Liu). The nebulous reasons for Kitty's partnership with Holmes will have continuing repercussions on his relationship with Joan.

Elementary marks Lovibond's U.S. television debut, but her other credits include Guardians of the Galaxy and No Strings Attached.
