Candice Patton Cast as Iris in CW's Flash Pilot

Actress Candice Patton has landed the role of Iris West in the CW's pilot The Flash, TVGuide.com has learned.

Iris is a quick-witted grad student who's the daughter of Detective West (Jesse L. Martin). She's also the best friend — and, in the comics, eventually wife — of Barry Allen (Grant Gustin). The character has been teased in the two Flash episodes of Arrow, though not mentioned by name.

Patton's previous acting credits include The Game and The Craigslist Killer.

Carlos Valdes has also joined the Flash cast as a series regular. He'll play Cisco Ramon, a mechanical engineering genius and the youngest member of the team of scientists at S.T.A.R. Labs. Valdes is currently starring in Once on Broadway.
