Alicia Silverstone Talks Suburgatory: Things Are Going to Get Steamy with George!

Alicia Silverstone knows she's about to divide Suburgatoryfans. The Cluelessstar makes her Chatswin debut on Wednesday's episode (8:30/7:30c on ABC) as Eden, a wholesome, farm-raised lass from Montana who instantly has George eating the crunchy, non-processed granola out of the palm of her hand.

Which of course makes us cry: "What about Dallas?!" Series boss Emily Kapnek has already spoiled that George's new insta-girlfriend will make Dallas' little, immaculately made-up face "crumple" in the most heartbreaking way. A big fan of Suburgatory herself, the 35-year-old Silverstone totally gets it.

So, perhaps for our sanity, she tried to play it coy when asked about Dallas' chances against Eden. "I partly feel like, yes, I'm on the show, but I'm also a fan watching and wondering what's going to happen next," she told TVGuide.com. "I really don't know!"

Then again, Eden and George really hit it off. They meet-cute at a Farmer's Market, and from there... "Ooooooh, it's pretty steamy in the first episode between them," she teased. "He falls for Eden. You'd think they've been together forever."

And how did it feel to reunite with Jeremy Sisto so many years after they shot the seminal '90s teen comedy Clueless (and their lesser known collaboration Hideaway)? "I think we got to know each other all over again in about... one second," Silverstone said, laughing. "A lot of time has passed, we met when we I was 17 and he was 19. We were babies. It's a whole other world now."

"He actually came to see me in a play I did on Broadway with Laura Linney in 2010 called Time Stands Still," she continued. "He came backstage to say hi, which was so nice because I didn't know he was there or anything. I got to meet his wife, and he met my husband. That was when I saw the new, adult Jeremy. After that, I saw Suburgatory and I was just so impressed with how good he is on the show. In Hideaway, he was a psycho killer, then he was a naughty, sh---y guy on Clueless and now he's this deliciously warm dad who cares about and loves his kid so much. I think he's accessing a really interesting part of himself that's so neat. He's just really a good actor."

Silverstone has already filmed her season-ending four episodes, and from the sound of what's coming up, it wouldn't be all that surprising to see her turn up again next season.

Part of the reason for that is George would like Tessa (Jane Levy) to bond with Eden. When last we left off, Tessa had decided to raise car-buying funds by working for Dallas (Cheryl Hines), and the new divorcee's high-end suburban lifestyle is going to start rubbing off on the girl who has up until now pledged lifelong allegiance to New York. Needless to say, George and the super grounded Eden are not going to be down with that.

"Eden sees Tessa acting a certain way and talking about this Dallas person and it just doesn't sound good," Silverstone said. "Eden doesn't know Dallas, but what's happening to Tessa doesn't feel right to her. And it's definitely going to spook George." At the same time, George's history with and feelings for Dallas aren't going to magically disappear either. "He enjoys Chatswin. He likes the suburban thing. So it's going to be complicated. There will a lot of butting of heads."

"There are all kind of fun complications," Silverstone continued. "I think the most fun complication happens in the first episode, and it has to do with Eden's very unique career. It affects everyone."

And yes, there will be a few shout-outs to Clueless. ("Jeremy says all of them," the actress laughed.) Carly Chaikin, who plays Dalia, was expressing her love for the Amy Heckerling film long before Silverstone had even been drafted to Suburgatory. "The cast — they were all so sweet to me when I showed up. At the first table read, they kept telling me how excited they were to have me there, and I was like, 'Really?' But I get it. I love Clueless, too."

And, Chaikin? Silverstone says the feeling is mutual. "Carly is so hilarious in my first episode. I love how she says, "Mommy. Mommy. Mommy. It's pretty perfect."
