Law & Order's Jeremy Sisto on Lupo's Future

Between cleaning up the streets and helping ratings rebound, Jeremy Sisto has been busy on Law & Order (Wednesdays at 10 pm/ET, NBC). We caught up with the L&O newbie to talk about Detective Lupo’s future, his Six Feet Under pals and his weakness for poker.

TV Guide: You're known for playing complicated characters. Are we going to see Detective Lupo's dark side anytime soon?
Jeremy Sisto: I'd love to have a big breakdown episode, but I don’t know if that's in the cards. A big emotional arc would interfere with the show’s structure — its eloquence and sense of reality. And I don’t think Lupo is volatile in his emotions.

TV Guide: How will he evolve throughout the season?
Sisto: Lupo starts out fairly timid and humb read full article

Law & Order's Back, with Cool New Stars and Sexy Storylines

Just when you thought Law & Order (Wednesdays at 10 pm/ET, NBC) was headed for its final verdict, the veteran procedural is winning new and old fans again. A year ago, L&O's ratings plunged when it was moved from Wednesdays to Fridays and the newer cast members — including Milena Govich, who played the first female detective — didn't spark much interest. In TV parlance, L&O was on the bubble. "Nobody wanted to hear that dreaded bubble word," says Jesse L. Martin, who plays Det. Ed Green. "That's what you hear before you hear the canceled word." Dick Wolf, who created the show and its spin-offs and still keeps a tight watch, wasn't about to let the mother ship sink. He made new hires: Jeremy Sisto as Det. Cyrus Lupo and Linus Roache as Chief Assistant DA Michael Cutter. The Sisto-and-Martin team has a free-flowing ease not seen since the days of the beloved read more

Cheers: Sisto Lays Down the Law

Cheers to Jeremy Sisto for getting back on solid dramatic ground as Det. Cyrus Lupo on Law & Order. The ex- Six Feet Under nutjob took a misstep by trying comedy with a recurring role on TBS' My Boys, but he fits right into NBC's gritty urban drama as Jesse L. Martin's brooding new partner. Sisto's certainly an improvement on his predecessor, Milena Govich, who strained credulity as "beauty queen" cop Nina Cassady. Case closed.
