The star-studded cast of the big-screen adaptation of Broadway's Rock of Ages may lose a stud. Alec Baldwin, who was to play Bourbon Room night club owner Dennis Dupree, has asked New Line to replace him after discovering a new medical condition, Deadline reports.
Bryan Cranston tapped for Rock of Ages

New Line studio head Toby Emmerich told the site that Baldwin's condition was expected to resolve itself so he can do the movie, but that the actor later asked if New Line could replace him "if at all possible." Emmerich said he has not yet decided what to do.
Just last week, Baldwin said on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon that he was excited to do Rock of Ages, which will hold its first table read May 23.

Catherine Zeta-Jones to rock Ages

With or without Baldwin, there's still plenty of star power to fuel Ages: Tom Cruise, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Paul Giamatti, Mary J. Blige and Bryan Cranston will star in film about an '80s rock club.
