The Voice has seen a number of great coaches come and go (and come back) over the years, but only two have been there every season since the start: Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. With the NBC reality competition's return just a month away (Monday, Sept. 22 at 8/7c), Levine doesn't underestimate the impact the past six seasons have had on his life, both professionally and personally.

"The show has changed my life in a profound way," Levine says in the exclusive behind-the-scenes video below. "I don't know how it happened. It all seemed so quick. But the show changed my perspective on a lot of things."

2014 Emmy fashions: White hot looks

Levine has done seven seasons in three years, all while juggling his duties as the lead singer of Maroon 5 with his blossoming acting career. Despite the busy schedule, it doesn't sound like Levine will give up his big red chair anytime soon. "It was so much fun getting into the show and loving it and still loving it after seven seasons. I don't know how it happened but I'm really enjoying it."

So how has The Voice changed Levine as a musician? And what can he tease about Maroon 5's upcoming album? Watch the exclusive video below to find out:

The Voice premieres on Monday, Sept. 22 at 8/7c on NBC.
