After months of rumors, NBC has confirmed that the Xena: Warrior Princess reboot is most definitely happening, Entertainment Weekly reports. Anticipation has been high since July, when former series star Lucy Lawless tweeted "news of a #Xena reboot is just a rumor. I'd love it to happen one day but it's still in the wishful thinking stage."

Well, wishful thinking has turned into reality, and the series has hired a writer-producer: Javier Grillo-Marxuach, who's worked on shows including Lost, NBC's Medium and Syfy's Helix. Lawless' husband Rob Tapert, an original co-creator of the action-adventure hit that ran from 1995-2001, is on board too, developing the new version along with director Sam Raimi, creator of theEvil Deadseries.

No word on an air date, but we're already prepping our costumes and imagining story lines.

Will you be tuning in?
