Not everyone answers to a higher power — or at least that's what CNN's Wolf Blitzer discovered in a live interview with one of the Oklahoma tornado victims.

On a Tuesday broadcast from Moore, Okla., Blitzer asked a woman named Rebecca if she was thankful to God for saving what little of her house she had left after the ferocious tornado ravaged it. Rebecca escaped her house Monday in her car as the tornado approached, taking her 19-month-old son Anders with her. The only problem? The woman was an atheist.

"You've got to thank the Lord. Do you thank the Lord for that split-second decision?" Blitzer asked her. "I'm actually an atheist," Rebecca said with a shy laugh. "You are? Alright, don't thank the Lord," Blitzer responded. "But you made the right call."
