TVGuide.com: It's been far too long since V was last on the air.
Elizabeth Mitchell:
It really has. Honestly, it's been delayed gratification on so many levels for V because I got so excited and so into it and then it wasn't there. It was everything I could do to not call everybody and be like, "So what are you writing today?" I waited and it was a good payoff. I've been enjoying the scripts.

TVGuide.com: The show left off on a really high note with all those ships flying toward Earth. Will there be a lot more Visitors coming to Earth?
Mitchell:
How cool was that? Yeah, we're going to see a lot more Vs, which is wonderful because I think Morena Baccarin is insanely gifted and so much fun to look at. If you're jonesing for something, it will probably be fixed.

TVGuide.com: Will people start to figure out that the Vs are bad guys?
Mitchell:
I'd like to think so, but it happens more slowly than you think. With what they're doing for us and how well they're taking care of us, you'd think they can't be that bad because you don't want the good stuff to be taken away. We've got our scrappy group of survivors who are going to get in there, and I think that with Ryan's people — the people who are Vs and are against Anna — it should be interesting to see what happens.

TVGuide.com: I hear Erica's maternal instincts will kick in because her son is on the mothership. What will we see from that?
Mitchell:
What I can say is that I'm looking down at my left hand right now and it's freaking covered in cuts. [Laughs] I think Erica's maternal instincts might take a very violent turn, so that will be interesting. I like to see people get moving with the actions of their characters, and that's what gets to happen with her.

Exclusive: V casts Michael Trucco as Fifth Column leader

TVGuide.com: So she'll be going more rogue and have more fight scenes?
Mitchell:
Yeah, I have gotten more, and I love them!

TVGuide.com: Which is more physically demanding: Lostor V?
Mitchell:
It's so hard to say because my fights are more intricate on V, but physically on Lost, we were always out in the middle of nowhere. So that was actually very physically demanding in a nice way. That's why it looks so cool: We are walking through jungles, we are in the middle of the heat. Also, Juliet was very contained until she wasn't, and Erica is not particularly contained. Unfortunately, she's skilled and has a quick-trigger temper, so she doesn't always make the best judgment call.

TVGuide.com: With Tyler (Logan Huffman) and Lisa (Laura Vandervoort) getting so close, Erica might be playing a grandmother soon. How will she feel about that?
Mitchell:
I think as long as her son is safe, she's kind of cool as far as all the stuff with Tyler goes. She really didn't seem to mind too much that he had a girl in [his room]. She just wants him to be physically safe and he's not obviously. He's in great jeopardy; she just doesn't know it yet. Hopefully, she will be finding out more and more. Obviously, that will lead to a great deal of violence.

TVGuide.com: Will she make it on to the mothership to get him back or are there more Fifth Columnists up there to help her?
Mitchell:
I can completely foresee Erica trying to get on the ship. I can also foresee that she has a group of people she can somewhat trust, and she's getting to trust Ryan. I really like that a lot because I'm a massive fan of Morris Chestnut, and to get to work with him is a dream. I had a scene with him the other day where I have to be really cold and hard and witchy to him, and in between every take I would go over and hug him and say, "I'm so sorry!"

V producer Jace Hall shows his love for videogames in web series

TVGuide.com: We haven't met Erica's husband yet. Will we be meeting him soon?
Mitchell:
Yeah, you will be meeting him. He is a real living, breathing person.

TVGuide.com: Will Father Jack be coming back after being stabbed?
Mitchell:
We left him in a pool of blood, didn't we? I love Joel Gretsch. I hope so. [Laughs]
TVGuide.com: Fans seem to love the chemistry between you two.
Mitchell:
He's a priest though. What I like is that we can have all the chemistry in the world, and we're given this kind of forbidden flirtation. We can look at each other, love each other and feel whatever it is we feel, and it's so wonderful because there's a massive block. A lot of times it's like, "I don't want to sleep with you because we work together." In this particular case, there's God. It makes it so you can have terrific chemistry and a wonderful ease around each other, but there is a massive barrier. I keep pushing for it, but I don't want to alienate anybody. [Laughs]

TVGuide.com: Any closing words to the fans because the show has been off for so long?
Mitchell:
It gets better and better. ... I haven't been disappointed. I was happy people watched it in the first place. I thought that was kind of a shock and wonderful. I always expect everything to go horribly wrong, so I'm thrilled when it doesn't.
