No VMA Comeback for Britney Spears

Britney Spears won't perform at MTV's Video Music Awards next month, her manager confirmed Monday morning."Britney Spears will not be performing at the VMAs this year," Larry Rudolph told Ryan Seacrest in an e-mail, which Seacrest read aloud during his KIIS-FM radio show. "I'm telling you officially and unequivocally that B.S. will not be there."Rudolph adds that the 26-year-old — who is up for three Moon Men — will instead be recording her new album, which is going "amazingly well."The denial ends months of rumors that the recovering pop star will make a comeback at the same stage that showcased her downward spiral last year. Spears is still involved with the award show though — she's filmed tongue-in-cheek ads for the Sept. 7 festivities with host Russell Brand. — Joyce Eng
