VIDEO: Grimm Returns with More Shirtless Rage and Morphing Madness

When NBC's Grimm returns for its spring premiere Friday at 9/8c, Nick (David Giuntoli) has just discovered that his girlfriend Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch) has been seeing his boss Capt. Renard (Sasha Roiz) on the sly. And even though Nick is a Grimm, Renard is half Hexenbiest, which makes for quite a matchup in this world. While Grimms are known for trouncing Wesen, fans of the show know that Renard is known for his rage — shirtless rage that is. TV Scorecard: What's canceled? What's renewed? Check out this exclusive video of the cast discussing the origins of shirtless rage, hashtags and the evolution of Nick's unique Grimm skill. Continue reading for more scoop on Grimm's return:

What is Nick's mental state when we come back?
David Giuntoli:
I am very angry, torn apart, kind of devastated in a guy-girl kind of way. I want to confront [Renard] in some way. Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) always wants to try to stop me. He doesn't know quite what I'm going to do.
Silas Weir Mitchell: It makes me very nervous. God only knows what he might do. He could get killed, he could kill somebody. I know it's tough for him. I want to help him, but I can't. He's a loose cannon.
Giuntoli: And coming up in the season, we see that Nick's got more than just good fighting skills. He has some quasi-superhuman abilities.
That sounds promising. Will Nick get his confrontation with Renard?
Sasha Roiz:
There's definitely going to be a confrontation. He's angry. He's one angry Grimm. Nick tends to hurt people when he's a little angry. A couple people take the brunt. He's become increasingly dangerorus. He's been more trained and has honed his skills and he's become quite lethal.

Is Juliette still struggling with the same problems?
Bitsie Tulloch:
With Juliette and Renard both under this spell, it's just intensifying for both of them. It's getting harder and harder for them to be away from each other and keep their hands off each other. Juliette's mindset is hard to describe because she's losing her mind. It's really crazy. ... Juliette doesn't understand what's going on.

Whereas Renard does...
Roiz:
He knows very well what's going on. He's been trying desperately to reverse [it], but even though he knows, he's completely lost in the spell and has no control over it or his actions. So he's been doing things that have been sabotaging all the little plans he's put out along the way, and it's driving him mad because he can't stop himself.
In the meantime, how is Monroe helping Nick? Can he help Nick?
Mitchell:
I've learned how to manage things in the spice shop... and the fact that Rosalee (Bree Turner) and I are, well ... we're still friends. So, I can help deal with the various conflicts that are radiating between Nick, the captain, Juliette. The spice shop is sort of a hub. Yeah, you know it's like Arnold's [from Happy Days].
Giuntoli: I would say exactly like Arnold's.

When we come back, is Adalind (Claire Coffee) still in jail?
Giuntoli:
Yeah, we we come back, she's in jail, which makes her more of a kind of sitting duck for people who want to get to her.
What else can we expect to see? Any new Wesen?
Tulloch
: We have a very modern, cool take on Rumplestiltskin, which is awesome. They're also doing one, which is sort of a take on Mr. Sandman that involves some parasites.
Roiz: But it's a very, very violent and grotesque Mr. Sandman version, as we do.
Mitchell: Really gory, ugly stuff that's just really kind of great.
Giuntoli:  I still want to see a Schnietmache ... I think it might be like a Snuffleupagus kind of moment, where he just leaves the room before I get in there. "What? Where's the Schnietmache?"
