People are More Amped About the Twilight Zone Marathon than 2018

Bye bye 2017, hello 3017

2017 had some bright spots, sure.

But for many, the year was an absolute marathon of political divisiveness, uncertainty, and wild news that makes it an absolute standout among the most arduous, so this New Year's Eve is a bittersweet one indeed.

So, although there are plenty of countdown programming options on the small screen buffet, some TV fans are turning to Syfy'sTwilight Zone marathon for respite as the year ticks down and finding it to be surprisingly cathartic.

#TwilightZoneMarathon was a trending topic on New Year's Eve, following the launch of the network's two-day airing bonanza, and those tuning into the telecast were all too happy to share their findings.

For some, the throwback series offers some lessons that are still just as valuable today as they were during its original run.

For others, the show just rings so true anymore that the timing couldn't be more ideal -- or spooky, depending on how you look at it. It's basically the pre-Black Mirror Black Mirror.

And of course there are those who are just happy to escape what hours remain of 2017 into the land of sci-fi weirdness that is The Twilight Zone.

Last but not least, there are those viewers who are made all the more eager for Jordan Peele's reboot of the series as a result of the latest marathon.

Let's just hope all the pigmask people and plane-wing-dwelling monster men aren't any indication of what's to come in 2018, yes?

The Twilight Zone marathon launched on Syfy Sunday morning and will continue until Tuesday, January 2nd with episodes airing each half hour. Check here for local listings.
