Former Blink 182 drummer and plane crash survivor Travis Barker filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court against Bombardier Inc., Clay Lacy Aviation and Goodyear Tire and Rubber, alleging the Learjet was defective and pilots were negligent.
Barker filed the suit alongside Thelma Martin Still, the mother of Charles Still, Barker's bodyguard who died in the crash on Sept. 19. Their suit claims that the learjet's "landing gear, tires, wheels, brakes, reverse thrust system, squat switches and component parts were not airworthy."
The suit also places a large amount of blame on the pilots of the ill-fated flight. It read, "The pilots' decision was a breach of their duty owed to the passengers onboard and was a substantial factor in causing the crash and resultant injuries and deaths."
While no statements have been issued by the pilots' families, Bombadier Inc. or Goodyear, Duke Tonry, public information officer for Clay Lacy Aviation, told E! News, "We were not involved, not our aircraft or our crews ... We don't understand the connection and we haven't been informed of the lawsuit."
What do you think about Barker's lawsuit? Is it fair or pointless?
