TNT has added another new series to its expanding lineup with Will, a period drama about young William Shakespeare making a name for himself in 16th-century London. The network announced the new show Wednesday as part of its upfront presentation to advertisers.

The series looks to be in the mold of Baz Luhrmann's Romeo + Juliet, which makes sense, since it's written and executive-produced by Lurhmann's frequent co-writer Craig Pearce. Newcomer Laurie Davidson stars as William Shakespeare, and the show is slated to launch in 2017.

The network also announced it has ordered a pilot for Civil, about a modern-day Civil War breaking out after a hotly contested Presidential election, which definitely doesn't sound eerily plausible at all. The pilot will be written and executive-produced by Oscar nominee Scott Smith and directed by prolific helmsman Allen Coulter.

Also announced was the casting of Reno 911's Niecy Nash in the pilot for Claws, a dark comedy about a South Florida nail salon the network describes as a, "wickedly funny meditation on female badness."

These shows will potentially join a revamped TNT lineup that includes new shows Animal Kingdom, Good Behavior and the M. Night Shyamalan-produced Tales From the Cryptand returning shows The Librarians and Major Crimes.
