When a reporter for Fox affiliate KDVR asked about the incident, Ibarra, who was arrested Saturday after his family called police when they saw the car, claimed Allen adopted him a few years ago and gave him the OK to take the Impala."I emailed my dad the morning that I got the car in and everything is fine and I've got the car and it's ready for you and we need to talk about me coming to live with you," Ibarra told the reporter from behind bars.

When confronted with the notion that his story seems a bit crazy, Ibarra got defensive. "I don't care how it sounds," he said. "I know who I am. He knows who I am. He knows who he is."Ibarra is currently being held without bond and is awaiting extradition to California. He could also face stalking charges.A rep for Allen declined to comment because it is a police matter.Watch Ibarra's interview below.
