Where you going with that shovel, my man
The Walking Deadis coming back for the second half of Season 9 on Sunday, Feb. 10, and to help you get excited AMC released some new photos from the back half, which will feature the full-on arrival of new bad guys the Whisperers as well as a new adventure for Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), who escaped from his jail cell in Alexandria in the midseason finale.
Let's take a look at the photos and see what we can glean about what's coming up in the next handful of episodes. None of the photos released contain any certified Whisperers, but here's what we know about what they look like.
This shot is from the midseason premiere and features Michonne (Danai Gurira) getting ready to wild out on some walkers on a covered bridge. These two chompers might be Whisperers or they might be regular degular zombies, but either way, you can be sure that there are some Whisperers on this bridge.

This shot of Daryl (Norman Reedus) is also from the bridge. Daryl's gonna meet someone very important on this bridge.
Elsewhere in the midseason premiere, Negan will escape from Alexandria under the cover of daylight. He has a shovel and a compass and he's ready to take on the world!
Musician Luke (Dan Fogler) and singer Alden (Callan McAuliffe) are out in the woods looking for other people to join their band.
Now that Jesus (Tom Payne) is dead, Tara (Alanna Masterson) is going to have to step up as the leader of Hilltop. Which is good, because Tara hasn't really had anything to do for the past four seasons.
We got some photos of Carol (Melissa McBride) and Ezekiel (Khary Payton)! One sees them being pulled in a cart like the royal couple they are:
And the other is of them chilling in their theater palace. I'm worried about Ezekiel in these eight episodes. Falling in love on The Walking Dead is usually a kiss of death.
And hey, look, it's a zombie getting makeup! Looking good, buddy!
The Walking Dead returns Sunday, Feb. 10 at 9/8c on AMC. Prior seasons can be streamed on Netflix.
