Remember when military dramas were all the rage heading into the this TV season? Well, they're not so much anymore. Following the unceremonious cancellation of The CW'sValor, NBC has taken The Brave out of active duty, reports Deadline. That leaves just CBS' SEAL Team as the lone survivor of the military trend which was partly spurred by the country's new president, but let's face it: SEAL Team was prime CBS material, trend or no trend.
The Brave had its shot. Slotted behind The Voice on Monday nights, it was given NBC's best spot on the schedule but couldn't make it work. After a decent start, it ended up in the bottom half of NBC's series and the season series finale netted a 0.71 rating in the adult demo and less than 4 million viewers, and that was after a 13-episode season.

Mike Vogel (Under the Dome) starred as the head of a Special Ops team who traveled around the world killing bad guys and saving innocent people, while Anne Heche's character barked orders back at command ops. The finale saw Demetrius Grosse's character Preach fall into a coma as the big cliffhanger, so we'll probably never find out if he would have come out of it or not.
NBC is expected to announce its 2018-2019 fall TV schedule on Sunday, May 13.
